The Classification of Steel Ball in Ball Mill

Steel ball is the key part of ball mill, is an indispensable accessory. In some special conditions, steel ball made of special materials is always required to function under different environmental conditions. At present, steel balls on the market are generally divided into two kind: casting steel ball and forging steel ball, which have different wear resistant degree.

Steel ball manufacturer heat scrap steel, scrap iron and other scrap furnace burden by using the intermediate frequency electric stove to make them fully melting. During melting process, add precious metal alloy into stove to make chemical reaction. After melted iron reach above 1550 Celsius and meet process regulation required, pouring the qualified melted iron into steel ball mold or steel ball production line mold. In a word, the steel ball produced by casting smelting method is called casting steel ball.

While, forging steel ball is produced by forging way after directly heating, it need not melting and casting. It is called forging steel ball just because all it needed is forging. Chromium content in forging steel ball is between 0.1% ~ 0.5%, carbon content is below 1.0%, and it adopt high-temperature forging so that the surface hardness of steel ball can reach above 56 degree. While because the material of steel ball have low harden-ability, the core hardness of steel ball usually only 30 degrees, the forging steel ball often adopts the water quenching treatment in general.
