Four Methods for Adjusting the Discharge Port of Jaw Crusher

The adjusting device of jaw crusher is mainly used for adjusting the size of discharge port. Due to the serious abrasion of gear plate, the discharge port will become larger. Consequently, the particle sizes will be coarse. Therefore, the size of the discharge port must be adjusted properly. The following are the four methods for port adjustment.

1. Gasket adjustment

Check the bearing and rack of thrust board. Put a team of gaskets with equal thickness. Add or remove the gaskets to adjust the size of the discharge port.

2. Wedge adjustment

The discharge port adjustment can be realized by relative motion between the bearing and rack of thrust board. Turn the nut on the bolt and the wedge will move up and down to push the thrust or the movable jaw to achieve the expected purpose.

3. Hydraulic adjustment

Recently, hydraulic push cylinder has been installed to adjust the size of discharge port. The thrust board is the common safety device, which is to prevent components from damage. The hydraulic system is pretty safe and it eliminates the fault.

4. Supporting device

It refers to the bearing of the crusher. Sliding bearings casted with babbitt metal which can bear heavy load are adopted in large and medium large crushers. However, the rotation speed is very low and the bearings need regular lubrication. With the improvement of manufacturing technology of babbitt metal, the application will become wider and wider.
