Coal washing is a processing technology which uses the difference of coal and impurity in physical and chemical property, to make effective separation between coal and impurity through physical, chemical and microorganisms sorting method and to process into coal production with uniform quality and different application. According to the different coal sorting method, it can be divided into physical coal sorting, chemical coal sorting, physical and chemical coal sorting and microorganisms coal sorting.

Physical coal sorting conduct sorting according to the physical property of coal and impurity, such as: particle size, density, hardness, magnetic and electric, etc. The main sorting methods are gravity sorting and electric magnetic sorting. Among them, gravity sorting including jigging sorting, heavy medium sorting, wave chute sorting, shaking bed sorting and wind power sorting.

In the processing of coal washing, after crushing and screening, coal need conduct dehydration which including the dehydration of lump coal and slack coal, coal flotation concentration and coal slime. Then drying the coal by using heat energy, dryer machine is the key equipment in this processing. The operation of dryer machine is depend on heat energy, so heat energy is the main energy, if it lost, then lost the performance of dryer machine. Therefore, keep continuous heat energy is one of ways to maintenance sludge drying machine.
