Analysis of Productivity Improvement of Cement Ball Mill

In cement production, ball mill is one of the key machines whose working ability determines the working efficiency of the follow-up work. 1) Material aspect

If the fed materials are crisp and easy to be ground, the production capability of the grinding mill will be high; otherwise the production capability will be low. If the granularity of the fed materials is big, the first cabin of the grinding mill must be filled with more big steel balls to make the grinding media impact the materials. That is to say, the first cabin plays a role of crusher, which leads to unreasonable grinding process because the crushing efficiency of the grinding mill is much lower than that of the crushing equipment. So reducing the feeding granularity can improve the production capability of the grinding mill and reduce the electricity consumption. Even material feeding and suitable feeding amount can also ensure high production capability.

2) Structure of cement ball mill

The diameter of the grinding mill is related to the production means. As for the grinding mill with open-circuit production system, in order to make sure that the fineness of the final products is qualified only by one grinding, the draw ratio is often set 3.5~6; as for the grinding mill with circle flow production system, in order to increase the flowing amount of the materials, the draw ratio should select 2.5~3.5. The placing pattern, the number and size of grate holes of the diaphragm should be suitable. The shape of the surface of the lining board of the grinding mill also has influences on the output of the grinding mill because it will change the lifting height of the grinding media which means influencing the impacting and grinding efficiency of the grinding media on the materials. So it is necessary to correctly choose the shape of the lining board. The grinding efficiency of the grinding mill is also linked to the type, specification, grading and fill rate of the grinding media which should also be reasonably selected.

3) Adoption of new technology

The available new technologies that can be adopted include automatic control grinding system, strengthening the ventilation inside the grinding mill, water spraying and adding auxiliary agents, which all can improve the productivity of the ball mill.
