The Important Functions of Lining Board of Ball Mill

In the industrial departments such as metallurgy, building materials, chemistry, mining, power generation and ceramics, ball mill is an important machine for manufacturing powder materials. On the internal surface of the ball mill cylinder, there is often equipped with lining board with various surface shapes. The lining board is one of the main easy-wearing spare parts of this grinding mill because its performance and service life are important technical and economic indexes.

The important functions of the lining board during the working process of ball mill are listed as follows:

(1) Protect the cylinder and increase its strength.

The cylinder is an important spare part of ball mill with high value. After being equipped with the lining board, the cylinder will be protected from being directly impacted and ground by the grinding media and the materials to be ground so that the cylinder and the whole grinding mill will have a long service life. At the same time, the lining board of the grinding mill is closed combined with the cylinder so that the strength of the cylinder can be increased.

(2) Transmit energy.

During the rotation process of the cylinder, due to the special shape of the surface of the lining board and the friction force, the balls are lifted to a certain height so that they will have some static energy and dropping energy, and then they will impact and grind the materials along the motion trail of the arc parabola according to the requirement of powder grinding technology. The different shapes of the working surface of the lining board will have different contain forces on the balls, and the difference of the state and the arrangement of the working surface of the lining board will directly influence the concentrated grinding efficiency.

(3) Automatically grade the balls.

The automatic grading lining board can make the grinding media with different grading reasonably grade according to the changes of the ore granularity, so that during the process in which the grinding media with different diameters crush the materials with relevant size, the best functions of the grinding mill can be brought into play, which means that the materials with both large and small size can all be crushed.
