In ore concentration plant, single parameter and fixed value feeding control is a traditional method to control the feed rate of ball mill. This system is composed of recorder, SCR governor, belt scales, funnel automatic switching device, and three DC motor driving belt feeders. The control system can be realized by both modular instrumentation and computer.
During controlling the feed rate, you should first set the volume of the ore in the regulator. When the deviation signal produced by ore changes deviating the given value outputs by the regulator, it can automatically changes the DC mA signal in the SCR governor and thus makes it output the voltage changes. The speed of the belt feeder is controlled by adjusting the DC motor armature voltage, which makes the feed rate close equal to the given value and then achieves the purpose of fixing the feed rate.
Electronic belt is used to test the feed rate of the ball mill, which can use the differential transformer to convert the displacement signal to voltage signal, or using photoelectric conversion to convert the belt scale counter to MA signal.
When the control system is working, if the funnel of the ore bin has no ore, belt scale outputs zero signals, the automatic switching devices makes the feeder of the no mine funnel close, and then open the feeder of mine funnel. Meanwhile, it can convert the output signal of the regulator to according SCR governor and then achieve the automatic switch of the feeder. When the ore bin has no ore or the funnel is clogged, belt weigher outputs no ore signal, the system automatically stops feeding and gives alarm signal. Then, the automatic control of the feed rate in ball mill is completed.
